Toddler Aviator Hat

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to make a quick post about this adorable little hat that I recently made.

Its made of pink gingham flannel and lined with lime green bubble-plush minky.

I would just like to note that I did not design the pattern. I simply came across it on Pinterest. I did utilize the pattern templates, however I didn't bother reading the directions, as I find that I prefer to do things my own method.

I'm so in love with how cute it turned out, that I wanted to share it with you, to inspire everyone to start thinking of fall projects!

120 Cupcakes

Hello Everyone!

Happy Monday!

Over the weekend I was working on a cupcake order for a retirement party. The order was for 120 cupcakes, and I thought that the design I did was quite versatile and would be cute for bridal showers, baby showers, or even summer birthday parties! So I filmed a little video while I was working.

DIY Sleep Mask

Hi Everyone!

I'm back today with another video tutorial!

Sleep masks make super cute crafts, to teach yourself or a child to sew! They can be used for summer camp (have the kids decorate them if you make them), Birthday party goody-bags, stocking stuffers at Christmas, etc. So many possibilities, and they can be made using a minimal amount of items that you may already have!

If you would like to watch my YouTube video on how to make a sleep mask, click the link below!

If you make one, I'd love to see a photo! You can send me an E-mail at quilters.workshop@gmail.com or post it to my Facebook page!

Summer Classes 2015

Hi Everyone!

I'm pleased to announce that my summer classes are off to a great start!

This summer my classes are filled with new and returning students, first-time sewers, adults, children and even mother-daughter combos! Here's a photo from one of my classes last week, two first-time sewers completing their first projects - pillowcases! Very proud of them!

This photo is a dress made by one of my returning adult students, who made this gorgeous Frozen themed dress for a very special little girl. Doesn't she look fabulous in her one-of-a-kind dress?

If you have not signed up for classes yet, I have just ONE space left in my Monday evenings, starting on July 20th 2015. 6:30pm-8:30pm

As for what I've been working on lately...
I've been jumping back into some paper piecing recently and have fallen in love with this block.
(I came across the pattern on Craftsy)

I'm not quite sure what I want to do with it, or if I want to make several more and make a quilt....oh the possibilities.

Get To Know Me!

Hi Everyone!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Canada Day and Fourth of July weekend! I was travelling around Georgian Bay, to Sauble Falls, Wiarton, Bruce Peninsula, Manitoulin Island, etc. The weather was absolutely amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend that was so lovingly organized and planned entirely by my better half. (All of which he managed to keep as a surprise)

Many of you have been curious to know additional information about myself as a person, rather than constantly providing information specifically about quilting, sewing and general crafting. So I have decided to include in my blogs additional bits of what I am doing in my personal life, rather than just photos of what I am creating.

Here are a few photos from my trip this past week!

I've also recently filmed a new video to my YouTube channel, where I've answered some "Facts about Me" questions, to help give my readers/viewers some further insight regarding what my favourite things are. I think it is important to build a relationship with all of you, rather than simply "talking at you" or giving you random information about products or techniques, without allowing myself to showcase more of my personality. If you would like to watch my "Get to Know Me" video, feel free to click on the link below! :)

As for what I've been working on lately, I've been really excited about these fabric bins. I've come up with the pattern on my own, for these three sizes, however, there are many tutorials on Pinterest for various fabric bins. These are so fun to customize and use as gifts or even use to organize your craft supplies! It is my goal to have a YouTube tutorial up very soon so that you can all make some fabric bins of your own!
